At Think Shift CBT Solutions, we are dedicated to empowering individuals through evidence-based cognitive behavioral therapy interventions. Our mission is to provide compassionate, authentic support that fosters personal growth and emotional resilience.
Lauren McCarthy, is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of New York. She holds a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Pace University.
Lauren is a kind, compassionate, and skilled clinician who works with her clients to experience an
increased sense of peace and harmony in their lives. Lauren works with adolescents and adults, and specializes in the treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Anxiety Disorders, and General Mental Health Concerns.
Lauren utilizes evidence-based approaches to treatment, predominantly based in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), and Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (DBT). She is also inclusive of Mindfulness and Motivational Interviewing techniques to create an individualized treatment plan to facilitate meaningful change in her clients lives.
In addition, Lauren believes in power of therapeutic relationship as a key component to promote growth, self-discovery, and healing. From her experience, she approaches the therapeutic process as a collaborative effort. Lauren believes that the client is the master of their own lives and utilizes the therapist and client's skills in conjunction to create solutions to what is causing the client distress. Lauren is able to create an accepting, non-judgmental space through building trust with her clients through authenticity and positive outcomes.
Outside of Lauren’s professional life, she really enjoys spending quality time with her husband and family. Traveling, swimming, and skiing.
